This is originally from Alive.com magazine. I loved it and wanted to share it with you all.
“Sports drinks are designed to deliver hydration, fast digesting carbohydrates for a source of quick energy, and some sodium to replay some of what is lost in sweat. But you need not rely on techy store-bought versions: making your own elixir couldn’t be easier. You’ll also save some hard-earned cash. This sports drink hack makes enough to fill two standard sized water bottles. The pineapple juice can be replaced with orange juice if desired.
2 1/2 cups unsweetened plain coconut water
1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
2 tbsp fresh lime juice
Place all of the ingredients into a large jug or jar and stir to combine. Divide among 2 water bottles.
Each serving contains: 159 calories; 3 g protein; 1 g total fat (1 g sat. fat, 0 g trans fat); 36 g total carbohydrates (27 g sugars, 4 g fibre); 319 mg sodium.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself. Enjoy!
