Triathlon Triumph

GetFit Camps very own Candace Sayler competed in her very first Triathlon in July. The event took place bright and early in Stettler last month.  The race included a 750m swim, a 20km bike ride and a 5km run.  She completed the race in 1 hour, 45 minutes and 21 seconds. Candace came in 22nd out of 36 of all participants in the sprint, 11 out of 21 in her gender category, and 2nd in age category for women.

“I hated the swim; the temperature was great, but the wind was horrible. For my first ever (and as a non endurance athlete), it wasn’t horrible. I think I may do another.” She is hoping to do the Innisfail triathlon in September with her teammate Sarah, who wasn’t able to compete in the Stettler triathlon due to injury.

Great job Candace!
